I sort of don't do resolutions anymore. But this year I have two goals...
1. To eat clean
2. To stay home more
The clean eating is going great. Seriously, GREAT!
Check out this blog for some great recipes. She was my favorite instructor at my gym and then she got married and moved. Boo. Well, yay for her, but boo for me.
The staying home part, well, let's just say I will make a concerted effort this week.
Why do I have so many errands to run and places to be?
My goal is to get organized and consolidate all this crazy running around.
So, that's it.
Do you make resolutions? How are they going?
p.s. Any ideas on what to get a 17 year old boy for his birthday? My son turns 17 this week (YIKES!) and he says, quote, I am not really into my birthday.
Wow. Apparently the whole, "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY WEEK" gene skips a generation.

I've got to get back on track with my eating. I did semi-clean eating for several months last year, and it was a natural high. I never felt better! I love the idea of staying home more as well. We don't have a lot of regularly scheduled things, but it seems like we are always running, and that is exhausting.
My big resolution to toss something out every day is going well. It feels good. Plus if I buy something new, I try to get rid of something old. It feels good to know that each day my house is getting a little lighter!
I have no ideas for a 17 year old boy, except a gift card or money, which may just be too boring. Sorry! Happy birthday to your baby boy! :)
have another baby, that'll keep you home more.
ha.
my husband, is still not into birthdays and his mom says he's always been like that. what? i'm into birthday weeks myself.
as for your sone how about a new cell phone? itunes gift card? concert tickets? car? i got a brand new car for my 17th. (my husband, the non-birthday guy, says that's ridiculous.) i thought it was a pretty good gift.
First of all, how did you write that 'Hi' ? What was that in????
I am ALL about both of your resolutions. I have said so many times, if ONLY I could just stay at home... my life would have so much more peace.
Happy Birthday to P - my kids STILL want to celebrate all week long. Actually, they'd like to make it a month.
Sorry, no ideas for gifts. C would just as soon have cash or a gift card. *sigh*
Staying home is hard. I try to consolidate my "to-do" list but it seems like every day we are out of something. If you find the secret, let us know.
hmmmm. what could you get him?
perhaps an experince? Like white water rafting or something?
I absolutely don't make resolutions! As for the birthday boy: MONEY.
This is no help...but we gave my 15 year old nephew gift cards to movies, restaurants, etc for Christmas. That way he isn't always asking his parents for money! I HATE gift cards, but what else do you get the kid who has everything??
Mine turned 17 a few months ago. We got him a kayak. Some other things he's gotten recently..
...bocce (seriously) and vintage license plates.
I try to eat healthy, but I have not been doing well...dinner out over the weekend...finding out my boss is sick and I have to be here later and didn't bring enough "healthy food" with me...those M & Ms are looking good!
I don't really do resolutions, but I want to try to keep balance. Balance my time with my family and my time online. Also I need to work on my anxiety--I get all stressed out over things that didn;'t even happen...just thinking that they COULD happen.
Hello,
I checked out the clean eating blog...great recipes! Thanks for the link. I am trying the clean food, too.
Of course...staying home is a good one....I am trying.... but appointments seem to sneak up on us...and running out of this and that.
Yikes!
I'll be thinking of something to get your sweet boy...not sure.
So far... my resolution for this month is to organize our "memories"...I will let you know as the month progresses. I am sooo far behind!
xo
Wow! Next year we will have 18 year olds! How did that happens? iTunes. Money. Clothes?
No New Years Resolutions here. Lent often serves the same purpose for me, and seems to be a bit more successful.
I don't do resolutions either, but have said I am making no weekly commitments. I haven't left the house yet today and think there is nothing better than time to be at home to tinker around, read or cook. Homebodies Unite!
Mmmm...I have someone with that special birthday coming up in March. I would probably go with tickets to a concert or sporting event...or cold, hard, cash (always good). It was so much easier when he just wanted another wooden train for his Thomas set {sigh}
I've not ever heard of someone putting stay at home more as a resolution but I love it!
Sounds like two really awesome resolutions! The first one is hard for me, but I have no problem putting things off forever because I'd rather stay home. :) I always get my teenage brothers sports related stuff or gift cards to Subway. :)
Oh, I so relate! My dad likes to tell me I have the coop-em-ups!
The bad news: I tagged you in today's post. If you don't do these/don't want to, no worries!
ugh - that clean eating resolution seems to taunt me every year ... my weak point for sure :(
Good luck with the birthday shopping! I love my birthday but I have enough 'things' and so I started asking for 'doing' presents when I was about 17 - so far I've been gliding in an engine-less plane, gone rock climbing and had a lovely high tea. This year I'm doing a shark experience at SeaWorld!! Hope that gives you some ideas :)
I love your resolutions, after a lot of time away last year staying home is high on my list of priorities too.
Thanks for the clean eating website...I'm trying to do more of that too. If you have any great recipes post 'em or let me know.
Ciao...oh, and I'm pondering your name change.
